To assist you in understanding your student's grades in art, I have added a list of grading rubrics and forms that we use in class.  I have also uploaded the pouch contents form that is included in each supply pouch; 7th and 8th grade students check out pouches for the school year.  The students sometimes have to share the pouches, as I continue to order the supplies for the pouches as money becomes available.  Eventually each student will have a pouch.  As stated in the syllabus for all classes,

"Each student will “check-out” a supply pouch which will have many of the daily supplies that we will use in the classroom.  If you break or lose any of the supplies in the supply pouch due to misuse or irresponsibility, you will be required to pay for replacements."

Students are supposed to check the pouch contents whenever they use the contents in the pouches.  I have explained to the students that art equipment and supplies are very expensive, and that they have a responsibility to keep the contents usable for the next student.  At the present time, 6th graders do not check out pouches.

Lecture Notes, Elements and Principles of art

Students are required to have a notebook/binder/folder in which to keep notes, sketchbook assignments, project rubrics, and bellwork questions.  I usually check to make sure students bring their notebooks to class on Mondays or Tuesday.  However, I have noticed that copies of review notes and bellwork drawings are being left behind.  We will start having notebook checks in which I will be checking for specific items.  These checks will begin January 14, 2013.  I have added a list of what students should have in their notebooks.  A copy of these lists are also posted outside the art classroom.
