RMCA Home School Support Program for Grades K-8
NOW ENROLLING FOR THE 2013-2014 SCHOOL YEAR
All home educators, regardless of district of residence, are welcome to our program. Students must be five by 9/15/2013 for kindergarten and six by 10/1/2013 for first grade. We offer a one-day a week academic and content rich program that works in partnership and compliments the goals of home schooling families.
SCHEDULE: 8:00 – 3:00 PM each day
CLASSES MEET: Monday – Friday
Space is limited. Please call or email for availability. Siblings of current students have priority.
LOCATION: 3525 Akers Drive, off North Carefree, between Peterson and Marksheffel
DATES: August 15, 2013 to May 9, 2014
K-5 CLASSES: Interactive, hands-on classes including Core Knowledge Science, Art, Language Arts including IEW, Critical Thinking, Latin, PE, Fine Arts and Character First curriculum.
6-8 CLASSES: Interactive, hands-on learning including Core Knowledge Science, Art, Language Arts including IEW, Critical Thinking, Latin/Greek Vocabulary, PE, and Character First curriculum. Other classes may include Shakespeare Reader’s Theatre, Business, Investing, Speech, Logic and History projects.
CURRICULUM/SUPPLIES FEES: A $10 classroom supplies fee and a ream of white 8 ½ x 11 copy paper per student covers all materials for the program, with a maximum fee per family of $40. Curriculum is available to borrow for home use.
STANDARDIZED TESTING: ITBS testing provided for grades 3, 5, and 7 at no charge.
UNIFORMS: All RMCA students wear uniforms in compliance with Board policy. http://rmcacs.org/uniform-policy.aspx
FIELD TRIPS: Optional field trips are offered during the year.
