Week of April 8-12

The spring concert is Wed. April 24th at 6:30 pm at Sand Creek High School.  All students are required to attend.  Parents, friends and family are encouraged to attend!

Theory work:  Rhythm exercises, note reading work within class songs

We will be focusing on the song "Intensity" and some students will play Chariots of Fire for the concert.  We will practice Jurassic Park, but it will not be performed in the concert.  Some gaps in theory knowledge need to be addressed, so we will be spending a fair amount of class time on that.

Some students have elected to accompany the choir for a few songs of our spring play "A Midsummer Night's Dream."  Parts will be assigned this week and we will start rehearsing.

Character log:  As a new project, I am having all of my 7/8 classes keep a character log.  I grade them and they grade themselves in the areas of respect and work ethic.  They also reflect on what they learned in class that day and how they feel they are doing in areas of respect and work ethic.  My assessment of them in these areas counts for their entire participation grade.
